The Supreme Court asked centre to undertake a comparative study on pollution caused by firecrackers and automobiles. The logic behind the same was that why people wanted to ban firecrackers when owing to the fact that in the capital we have more than 15 million vehicles plying. This has also come in the light of the plight of the workers of the firecrackers industry who have been rendered unemployed . The occupation of these workers is legitimate and duly licensed as well and by ensuring a complete ban we are rendering these workers jobless and unemployed. The question pointed by supreme court is one of deep thought as the automotive lobby is trying to
shift the Onus on the fire crackers industry if not overt then covertly.
